Jonathan Frankel

Partner

Jonathan Frankel is a Partner of GTC Law and is head of both our Civil Litigation and Private Client departments.

Jonathan has an extensive client base whose needs include Probate matters, Wills, Estate Planning & Inheritance Tax, Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection work. Jonathan's litigation experience covers contentious matters in the County Court and High Court, as well as in the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal.

David Turner

Partner

David became managing Partner in 2005 after nearly 25 years providing legal assistance to both residential and commercial clients.

David has worked in Affordable Housing for many years and has been advising small to medium sized developers since the late 1980’s.

David is based in our West End office and still works with residential property developers. In addition to his managerial duties, David is also responsible for strategy and finance.

Howard Freeman

Partner

Howard was admitted as a Solicitor in December 1984. He successfully completed his training in the city and Ilford. Shortly after qualifying he was head-hunted by Richard West and joined him as an Assistant Solicitor in Feb 1985.
Howard became a Partner in 1987 and remained with the firm as Richard West & Co until the practice expanded in 1997 to become Richard West Freeman Christofi. He remained with the practice until the merger with GTC Law in Feb 2011.
Howard has specialised in Conveyancing, both Residential and Commercial for many years.
He has been dealing with Social Housing, Shared ownership, Grants and allied matters more or less since their inception and has acted in conjunction with many housing association’s over the years and seen them merge and evolve over time.

When Howard takes time out of work he likes to attend the Theatre, cinema and has an interest in the Arts in general. Howard regularly attends the Cannes film festival. He is also a keen follower of sports, he is a season ticket holder at West Ham and tries to attend Essex cricket matches and tennis tournaments when possible.

Richard West

Partner

Richard Was admitted in March 1969 following articles with Piper Smith & Piper in Westminster SW1 & founded Richard West & Co in 1979

Following new partners joining the practice in 1996 the firm became known as Richard West Freeman & Christofi (RWFC)

Subsequently RWFC merged with GTC Law in 2011.

Richards outside interests include foreign travel and squash. Richard is also registered with the FSA and a Friendly Society Trustee.

Matt Conroy

Partner

Matt was admitted as a Solicitor in 1995 whilst working at Amhurst Brown Colombotti Solicitors before becoming a partner at Richard West Freeman Christofi in April 1997. He has always worked in Walthamstow, a few miles from where he was born and has always worked in Property, concentrating on residential conveyancing but often dealing with commercial matters. Matt’s three children are the most important thing in his life and dominate most of his time outside work. In his spare time Matt plays football once a week and every other Saturday can be found at the Boleyn Ground urging on his beloved West Ham United!

Hardip Basra

Partner

Hardip Basra works in the firm's Property Department, specialising in Residential Conveyancing matters. She graduated with a law degree from Nottingham Law School in 1999 and studied her Legal Practice Course in part time evening classes at BPP London whilst working full time as a conveyancing paralegal. In 2003 she went on to train as a Solicitor with an Essex based Law firm, she qualified in September 2005, Joined GTC Law in April 2006 and became Partner in September 2010.
Hardip has ten years’ residential conveyancing experience and whilst she concentrates on running a residential conveyancing case load she also supervises and trains conveyancers in line with the firm’s LEXCEL requirements. Hardip has acted for many first time buyers on shared ownership new build purchases, assisted many clients with shared equity schemes through Metropolitan Home Ownership and is regularly instructed to act on behalf of clients who are staircasing and those selling and simultaneously staircasing. Hardip often attends affordable housing property launches for Newlon Housing Trust and has attended events organised by Swan Housing. She has also supported Metropolitan Home Ownership by making presentations to shared ownership property owners on staircasing.

Jonathan Kidoushim

Jonathan was admitted as a solicitor in September 2008. Jonathan joined GTC Law in 2006 as a Legal Assistant in the residential conveyancing department. His enthusiasm, initiative and ability to make and maintain good client relations led to the firm offering a Training Contract. Jonathan successfully completed his training under the supervision of the then senior Partner Peter Gilbert and when qualified went on to manage the firm’s New Build Department and expand the firm’s contacts in this area. Jonathan is a very capable property lawyer who specialises in Commercial property, Residential Property, New Developments and Affordable Housing work. Jonathan acts on behalf of many of the first time buyers purchasing shared ownership properties through Newlon.

Richard Moran

Richard started his career in law over 20 years ago when he worked as a Crown Court Clerk for a firm of Solicitors in Yorkshire. Richard graduated from the University of Greenwich in 1997 with a 2:1 law degree. After graduated Richard changed direction into Law firm Management implementing the LSC’s quality assurance standards into a number of law firms and dealing with the day to day administration and issues facing medium sized law firms. Richard joined GTC Law in 2006 and is responsible for the overall day to day management of GTC Law including personnel and finance.

Pravin is a litigation solicitor with 7 years post qualification experience specialising in the following areas of litigation; property (commercial and residential), landlord/tenant (commercial and residential), building disputes, commercial, professional negligence and civil litigation. Pravin trained at a legal 500 firm and has recently represented a number of insurers in disputes in the above areas of litigation. Pravin has built a reputation for focusing on providing efficient, thorough and practical advice with an aim to resolving disputes before they go to court. Pravin has acted for a wide range of individuals, businesses and corporations with a large property portfolios and business interests in the BVI and in the UK. Paul Handford

A graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Paul spent ten years working in the City of London in the financial services sector after graduating, before retraining to become a solicitor at what was then Birmingham Polytechnic. He was articled into private practice with a firm with offices in Reigate, Surrey and Westminster and moved on to a legal expenses insurer, Hambro Legal Protection. He was then recruited as a specialist consumer lawyer and worked for Which? Legal Service, part of the Consumers Association for nearly ten years, mostly involved in helping members pursue redress against banks, insurers, builders, car dealers and solicitors. From Which? he joined Richard West Freeman Christofi in July 2007, as a private client specialist and was absorbed into GTC Law when it took over Richard West Freeman Christofi in February 2011.

Now with Twenty years varied legal experience, at GTC Law Paul continues to specialise in private client work, which includes drawing up Wills, Deeds of Trust, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Pre-Nuptial Agreements, advising on care home fees, severing joint tenancies, inheritance tax and estate planning, applying for Probate or Letters of Administration and administering the estate for the executor or administrator and applications to act as a Deputy in the Court of Protection.

In his spare time, which with a young daughter is limited by her enviable social dairy, he likes to garden, which includes running an allotment, study history, astrophysics and particle physics (excluding the mathematical proofs) and the occasional trip to the rugby at Twickenham.

Russell Young is an Associate of the Institute of Legal Executives and specialist in matrimonial and family law including:-

Russell deals with matters in a no nonsense but where possible amicable way to negotiate to your advantage.

In more complex cases he has vast experience in locating hidden assets and unravelling complex financial company and personal arrangements and has built up over his 20 years experience a network of barristers, forensic accounts and other professionals to be called upon if required.

In straightforward cases Russell is able to provide a fixed fee and in certain cases fee agreements can be entered into.
